The 27th edition of the International Film Festival Love is Folly in Bulgaria has scheduled to screen Iranian feature ‘Dayan’.
Directed by Behrouz Nouranipour, ‘Dayan’ is a movie depicting the struggles of 4 million refugees fleeing the fear and terror caused by the Daesh terrorist group in the Kurdistan region.
Stuck in the middle of a war and not being able to reunite with their loved ones, these families were forced to make some tough decisions.
This is a story about the day after the war, about the people living in a small village, trying to have a better future.
The flick has gone on screen at a number of global events, including the 16th Chennai International Film Festival in India, the 22nd annual Tertio Millennio Film Festival in Italy, winning awards such as Special Mention at the 2018 Singapore International Film Festival.
Launched in 1993, the International Film Festival Love is Folly is a competitive event that features selected films produced during the last two years dealing with the subject of love.
For years Love is Folly was the only international film festival, taking place in Bulgaria and until recently - the only one with feature film contest.
To kick off on August 23 in Varna, Bulgaria, the event's 27th edition is slated to wrap up on September 1, 2019.
